The Company
was formed in 1985 by the Directors of Victoria Engineering and
Manufacturing (Blackheath) Co Ltd., to facilitate the one off machining
items required for the conveyors manufactured by the main company.
Victoria
Engineering itself was formed in the early 1950s originally to build car
bodies. Over the years it
was diversified into the fabrication business.
The present Directors took the company over in the late 1970s
gradually improving the standard and quality of work and moving from
sub-contract fabrications to the design, manufacture and installation of
various types of mechanical handling equipment.
In the
early 1990s the two companies were combined and the CHL name used due to
the close proximity of another company trading as Victoria Engineering.
The Company
today employs staff with 20 years plus experience in the design
and manufacture of mechanical handling equipment
All designs
are carried out on CAD. Manufacturing
is performed using a wide variety of modern machines and we employ the
use of not only arc welding and MIG welding but also TIG welding and
with the use of plasma cutting, we can work with a variety of materials.
Our fully
equipped installation team are conversant with the latest HSE and CDM
regulations whilst installing and commissioning our equipment.
